Nineteen of Medvedev's twenty-one championships have been earned on hard surfaces

A comeback Daniil Medvedev won his maiden title for over two years with a win over Frenchman Moutet in the Almaty Open title decider.

The Russian, a former number one, has experienced a challenging period, achieving just one win at the Grand Slams and suffering a setback at the American major.

Medvedev's varied form on the ATP Tour - and struggles with his serve in specific - led to him exiting of the world's top 10 and finally parting ways with former coach his previous coach.

Presently working with Johansson and his other coach, the tennis star has steadily improved in the last few weeks - peaking in a tightly fought competitive triumph over opponent Corentin Moutet.

It is Medvedev's first championship after the 2023 Rome Masters and first on a hard court since that period of the previous year.

The win also means the Russian has achieved twenty-one championships at twenty-one distinct tournaments.

"It's the first time I have attended a tournament with my children at once, so to secure a title is particularly special," stated tennis professional Medvedev.

"This victory is in dedication of my second daughter my daughter, because the maiden victory I achieved when my older daughter my daughter was born was for her."

The tennis star, the past champion, had failed in his previous six championship matches, comprising in the German tournament in the past months.

The player's retrieving play style and regular emotional displays on court had caused observers to wonder if his capacity to play at the highest level was finished.

However the 29-year-old has altered his approach in recent weeks, attempting to advance forward and perform assertively, reinforced by an enhanced serve.

He recovered from a deficit in the initial set against the tricky Moutet, winning 4 of the final five games to take the lead.

Both players exchanged service breaks in the second set before Moutet, bidding for his initial ATP Tour championship, took control to push for a third set.

The opponent rescued four initial chances in a tight final set before the Russian secured a break to fifteen to serve for the match.

Suitably, he earned the title with a shot at the net area, with the Frenchman unable to handle a shot after over two and a half hours.
